iPhone 2018 Rumors: What to expect from Apple this year
Apple is all set to roll out its 2018 edition iPhones although rumours and news have made its way to the public ear long before.
Three new iPhones are expected to be launched in the autumn of 2018, although some speculate there could be more than three. The most obvious speculation is the iPhone X Plus, which could be the larger counterpart of the iPhone X released in 2017.
Though there are numerous reports of slow iPhone X demand but still we expect the 2018 iPhone’s to follow the similar design. iPhone X successor should come in more affordable price while iPhone X Plus should regain the top spot in the line-up.
All models should be capable to run Augmented Reality Apps with updated iOS 12. So if you using iPhone 6 or below models and want to play Augmented Reality games on Your iPhone, this will be a good time to upgrade.
What the new iPhone will be called is also a matter of discussion with iPhone Plus being a much-voted candidate. iPhone 8S and iPhone 9 are already skipped with the launch of iPhone X, so there is no reason for Apple to go back in the naming convention. This is a perfect timing to launch a new naming schema or they will be just called iPhone and iPhone Pro (like iPad and iPad Pro).
Following Apple’s habit of releasing a new phone every September, the new 2018 edition flagship phone could be unveiled this September. Analysts believe that Apple is aiming to avoid the stock bottlenecks it suffered from its previous models in 2017. Stable shipments and on-time shipping are targeted this season, believes KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Reports indicate an expected launch of three to four phones, with Ming-Chi Kuo predicting details of each model. The iPhone X will get its successor a grossly similar format with a 5.8in OLED. The prediction on iPhone X Plus stands at 6.5in OLED, while a cheaper variant might be available in 6.1in LCD, with larger bezels and similar features as iPhone X, but without the dual rear camera.
According to the reports, 6.1in LCD model might not get the 3D touch because of the screen technology used in the phone. Other two model should have the 3D touch as they are OLED models using the same display technology.
You will still have to rely on lightning earbuds or get yourself a Bluetooth Headphone for the cordless audio experience.
The prices of the 2018 models are likely to be placed along the lines of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, which were priced at £699/$699 and £799/$799 respectively.
Rumours have also found its way to the mainstream suggesting that a ‘Lite’ version of the iPhone X will be available. iPhone X being sold at a higher rate owing to its premium label will likely be succeeded by a more affordable version.
Fans will have to wait until September to get the first glimpse of all the new releases of the new iPhone 2018 editions. But Apple is planning to launch an update on the iPhone SE, most likely an iPhone SE 2, analysts suggest. Apple might be planning to unveiling it at its yearly WWDC conference which is going to take place from June 4 – 8.
A video has been leaked showing the details of rumored iPhone SE 2.
Based on the initial look, you will get the glass back with wireless charging, similar screen size and 3.5mm headphone jack. So if you are have your old headphones, it will be a good news for you.
